Terms of use

Last updated 2 November 2026

The short version
  • You must be at least 13, and you’re responsible for what you send.
  • Be kind: no harassment, threats, hate, spam, scams or sexual content involving anyone under 18.
  • We can suspend accounts that break these rules.
  • Vudo is free and provided as it is; features, including the daily allowance, can change.

These terms are an agreement between you and Vudo (“we”, “us”) about using the Vudo app, Vudo on the web and this website. By using Vudo you agree to them, and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Vudo.

1. Who can use Vudo

  • You must be at least 13 years old.
  • You need a phone number you own and can receive codes on. One account per person.
  • You can’t use Vudo if we’ve suspended you before, unless we’ve agreed.

2. Your account

  • Your account is tied to your phone number. Keep your phone and login codes to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Use a name that doesn’t pretend to be someone else.
  • If you lose your number or think someone else is using your account, tell us at support@vudoapp.com.

3. How Vudo works

  • You chat one-to-one with friends. Each friendship has a daily allowance of characters (currently 150), which refills at your midnight. We may change the allowance or other features.
  • People who aren’t your friends yet can send you one message request. You choose whether to accept it.
  • Characters you’ve used aren’t given back, even if you delete a message.

4. Rules for using Vudo

Don’t use Vudo to:

  • harass, bully, threaten or intimidate anyone;
  • share hate speech, or content that encourages violence or self-harm;
  • share any sexual content involving someone under 18, or try to groom or exploit a child (see our child safety standards);
  • share sexual content with anyone who hasn’t clearly agreed to receive it;
  • send spam, scams, or chain or bulk messages, or try to get around the daily allowance or request limits;
  • pretend to be someone else, or share someone’s private information without their permission;
  • break the law, or encourage others to;
  • interfere with Vudo: hacking, overloading our systems, using bots or automated tools, or copying data from the service.

5. Your messages and content

  • What you write is yours. You give us permission to store, transmit and display it only so Vudo can work (for example, to deliver your messages and keep your chat history).
  • You’re responsible for what you send, and you confirm you have the right to share it.

6. Reports and suspensions

  • Anyone can report a message they received. Our team reviews reports and may delete messages that break these terms.
  • We may warn, suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or that put others at risk, with or without notice. If you think we got it wrong, write to us.
  • We report child sexual abuse material and serious threats to the relevant authorities.

7. Leaving Vudo

You can delete your account at any time. What happens to your information is explained in our privacy policy.

8. Vudo is provided as it is

Vudo is free. We work to keep it running well, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free or that messages will always be delivered. As far as the law allows, we provide Vudo “as is”, without warranties.

9. Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, for what other users send, or for problems caused by things outside our control (such as network outages). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that can’t be limited.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using Vudo after a change, you accept the new terms.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and disputes go to the courts of Ghana.
